Deep Cuts by Imago — Vol. 01 — Movement

Music is an integral part of everything I do. Raised in a household where the stereo was always bumping, I’ve been deeply influenced by music for as long as I have memory. This incredibly emotive art form continues to drive my work forward—so much so that the name Imago itself was inspired by one of my favorite ‘90s producers. (I’ll save that story for another time.)

Today, I’m so happy to finally introduce you to a project I’ve wanted to launch since the very beginning of Imago. Say hello to Deep Cuts by Imago, an ongoing series of techno/house playlists specially curated for the Imago community (and, of course, available to all!).

Since I’m spending Memorial Day weekend in Detroit this year, what better way to launch off the series than with a tracklist inspired by the iconic Movement Electronic Music Festival (a.k.a. DEMF to the old-timers)?

Vol. 01 — Movement is dark + sweet, dubby, + a little bit funky. It features just a peek into some legendary Detroit sounds; a few of my all-time-favorite tracks from some of the artists who’ll be making an appearance at this year’s festival; + a selection of complementary tracks to get you into the groove.

Whether you’re getting ready to hit Hart Plaza, branching out to the city’s alternative venues (as I am!), or plugging in from anywhere else in the world, I hope this very first volume of Deep Cuts gets you moving + ready to move some more.

Enjoy!

xx — A
